Workplace Violence in Healthcare: Warning Signs and Practical Solutions
Program Date/Time: Thursday, February 29, at 1 p.m. ET / 12 p.m. CT
The Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) considers workplace violence a widespread problem across all industries, but the agency says workers in healthcare face unique safety risks and that an OSHA standard focusing on violence in healthcare facilities is in the works.
In this Feb. 29 fireside chat, Hector Alvarez, MSPSY, CTM, president of Alvarez Associates, will discuss the issues that healthcare facilities must address to keep patients and staff safe from violence. In addition, he’ll explain how California’s new workplace violence prevention law could prove influential if other states follow suit.
