Preparing Environmental Services for a Survey: A Fireside Chat

As a support service department, Environmental Services (EVS) has responsibility for the entire campus of a hospital. A successful survey of the hospital and for any one department may hinge on the EVS department’s performance. Preparation for successful surveys of Environmental Services can be achieved by auditing against “The Ten C’s”: Cleanliness, Competency, Compliance, Communication, Collaboration, Controls, Contracts, Culture, Courtesy and Confidence.
