Workflow Assessment for Health IT—New Toolkit from AHRQ

July 15, 2011—The Agency for Health Research and Quality (AHRQ) has developed a new toolkit designed to help optimize the effectiveness of healthcare information technology (health IT) in ambulatory care. The toolkit focuses on the importance of understanding the impact of health IT on workflow—clinical and administrative—before and after implementation. The toolkit is designed to be helpful at all stages of health IT projects: planning, design, implementation, and use.
