Franciscan Alliance Signs Medical Device Integration Agreement with iSirona
iSirona®, a provider of simplified solutions for medical device integration, announced on April 12 that Franciscan Alliance, one of only 32 Pioneer Accountable Care Organizations (ACO) in the country, has chosen to implement iSirona’s device connectivity software. Franciscan Alliance wanted a device integration solution that would channel medical device data into its Epic CIS and was searching for a solution flexible enough to meet today’s needs and future demands.
After a rigorous selection process, including researching hardware-based alternatives, Franciscan Alliance chose iSirona’s software-based device connectivity solution, which enables hospitals to integrate patient data from virtually any medical device into the EMR. Medical device integration is crucial for the hospitals of Franciscan Alliance, one of the few ACOs in the country. ACOs are groups of doctors, hospitals and other health care providers that come together voluntarily to coordinate high-quality care while reducing healthcare costs, primarily for Medicare patients.
“Our goal is proactive, preventive medicine, and medical device integration helps us achieve just that,” says Bill Laker, CIO at Franciscan Alliance. “iSirona’s software offers us a robust solution that not only covers our current needs, but allows growth into settings such as ambulatory and home health care.”
