Editor’s Note: Partnership for Patients
The Partnership for Patients is an ambitious national initiative launched recently by the Department of Health and Human Services to improve the safety, quality, and affordability of healthcare in the United States. The National Priorities Partnership (convened by the National Quality Forum) is presenting a series of webinars to “discuss strategies for getting started and sustaining meaningful execution of change.” The series features national thought leaders and experts in patient safety.
On June 20, the first webinar, “Introduction to the Patient Safety Initiative & Standout Stories,” featured CMS Administrator Don Berwick, MD; CMS Senior Advisor Joe McCannon; Virginia Mason Medical Center Chairman and CEO Gary Kaplan, MD; and ThedaCare Center For Healthcare Value CEO John Toussaint, MD. A recording of the webinar is available online.
The next webinar, “Reducing Readmissions through Care Transitions,” will take place July 6. The webinars are available free of charge, but you must register in advance and space is limited.
