DocuSys’ Presurgical Care Management System Successfully Installed at Indiana Regional Medical Center

Atlanta, May 5, 2009 — DocuSys, Inc., a market-leading provider of innovative systems for anesthesia information management, medication management and presurgical care management, announced today that Indiana Regional Medical Center, Indiana, PA, has gone live with the Presurgical Care Management System, a comprehensive system to manage presurgical patient assessment and readiness for surgery. Indiana Regional Medical Center was among seven Pennsylvania organizations honored for high performance, quality, and results by the Keystone Alliance for Performance Excellence (KAPE).

Indiana Regional Medical Center is now able to offer their surgical patients a health survey, HealthQuestionnaire™, which can be completed at the hospital using touch-screen technology or at home via the Web. The care team at Indiana Regional uses PreOpPlanner™ for automatic identification of the patient’s surgical risk, testing requirements and need for anesthesia consultation prior to surgery. ??“During the preadmission stage of care, the collection and documentation of a patient’s health history can reveal conditions such as allergies and medications that may lead to adverse results during surgery or post-surgical care,” says Medical Director, Presurgical Care Management at DocuSys, David Young, M.D. “Developing a perioperative plan based on this data can help improve patient outcomes.”

“We are excited and pleased to offer an innovative way of ensuring that patients are in the best condition possible before surgery. Leveraging technology and process changes gives us the ability to be on the cutting edge and helps us to deliver quality care to our patients,” said Director of Surgical Services of Indiana Regional Medical Center, Loraine George, BSPA RN.

“Indiana Regional Medical Center has been serving its community for decades and is known for its commitment to high-quality patient care,” said DocuSys President and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Robert Watson. “We are proud to partner with a healthcare provider like Indiana Regional Medical Center to provide their patients with a comprehensive method for capturing their medical history that will be available to all members of their care team.”
