ASQ Healthcare Conference Seeks Presenters

Quality leaders invited to submit measurement-focused proposals.

Milwaukee, Wis., July 26, 2011 – Healthcare organizations that have demonstrated measurable improvement results are invited to present at the 2012  Quality Institute for Healthcare http://qihc.asq.org/ (QIHC).  The conference will be held May 21-23, 2012, at the Anaheim Convention Center, Anaheim, Calif.    

Measurements that matter: Achieving and Sustaining Meaningful Healthcare Quality and Performance Results is the 2012 QIHC theme. The event is hosted by ASQ, the world’s largest network of quality resources and experts, in partnership with the ASQ Healthcare Division.

This year’s QIHC Program Co-Chairs are:

  • James Levett M.D., chief medical officer at Physicians’ Clinic of Iowa
  • Laura Kinney, practice leader, environmental sustainability and Baldrige SME at MultiCare Health System in Tacoma, Wash. 

All healthcare leaders and quality practitioners – from administrators and managers to clinical directors – are invited to submit proposals. The submission deadline is Monday, September 5, 2011. 

ASQ is interested in 60-minute technical sessions or 2-hour interactive workshops that provide attendees with skills, tools or methods that they can apply immediately to their work.   Sessions should be relevant for professionals working in hospitals, surgery centers, medical laboratories, blood banks, community health programs or physician clinics.   Content must address the clear learning objectives and special considerations outlined in the call-for-submissions. They should also cover at least one of the following focus areas:

  • Efficiency, cost and reducing waste
  • Patient satisfaction
  • Patient safety
  • Care coordination
  • Quality systems and organizational excellence
  • Sustaining a quality culture
