AliMed Releases EZRock Patient Shifter
Dedham, Massachusetts, February 28, 2011—AliMed has announced the release of EZRock, a state-of-the-art patient shifter that allows for easy transfers between bed and chair (or bed and commode), with no lifting.
The EZRock relies on physics to safely and comfortably transfer patients. A support slips under the buttocks of a sitting patient and the torso brace fits against the chest (with the support strap around the patient’s back). Then with one finger, the patient can rock up to a vertical position, the shifter then rotates and the patient can be lowered onto wheelchair, commode or other seat.

The four-piece shifter can be disassembled for easy travel and storage, and requires no electricity or hydraulics. It weighs less than 23lbs.
The EZ Rock was shown last December in Las Vegas by AliMed at the National Ergonomics conference where it created significant interest amongst ergonomists and healthcare safety managers.
