2010 PQRI Incentives Still Available
Detroit, MI, December 13, 2001 — Physician practices are leaving money on the table because they don’t realize how easy it is to qualify for PQRI financial incentives, which are at their highest level. Many practices still remember the program’s rocky start that required onerous data collection with little reward. However, that’s in the past. CMS has overhauled the program and practices can now work with approved vendor registries to submit their quality and/or e-prescribing data. The good news is that 2010 incentives are 2 percent, the highest level offered under the program, and data can be submitted through March 15, 2011, although registries will need to receive the information earlier. And, it’s easy…electronic and paper-based practices only need a few hours to gather the required data and submit it to their registry and then wait to receive their payments that could range from a few thousand dollars for a smaller practice to about $1 million for a large group practice. In this situation, time really is money – practices should contact a registry like Covisint DocSite immediately so they don’t lose out on incentives they have earned.
